Probably most - there is pressure on GP's over what to prescribe and what not to.
It's easier with new patients - much harder to correct old mistakes (which appeared right at the time)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
My poor old mother of 82 is in a right mess due to prescription drugs.
Every day she takes - by prescription - 2 mg ativan at night + traxodone to help with the nightmares ( prob produced by the benzo) + co-proxamol (in spite of the fact that it is being phased out) + various antiinflammatories for arthritis + anti depressant ........ and others I cant remember. I am so cross at the doctors - but they claim client confidentiality when I try to get some info or some help for her. She has become depressed and bad tempered, angry and anti-social - she has changed out of all recognition from the capable happy woman who brought up 4 kids and ran a happy home...............
I really do think that her miserable existance now is largely caused by the cocktail of drugs that she is on.
